A city that really sticks with you
Rouen is just gorgeous. The old half-timbered buildings everywhere you look, the Cathedral lighting up at night - it's a lot to take in. Easy to get around on foot and the food scene is solid too.
Way more to see than I expected
The Rue du Gros-Horloge alone is worth the trip - that big medieval clock above the street is just wild to see in person. Rouen has so much history packed into a walkable city. Grab a tarte aux pommes from a local bakery while you're there, seriously good stuff.
Perfect weekend city break
Really loved the pace of this city. The Cathedral is stunning, the streets in the old quarter feel genuinely medieval, and there are loads of cozy little cafés to duck into. People were friendly and helpful. Great for a short trip.
Rouen does history really well
If you're into French history, this place delivers big time. The Joan of Arc Church and the old market square where everything happened - it hits different when you're actually standing there. The whole old town is well preserved and very photogenic.
Great food city, not just a sightseeing stop
Came mostly for the history but stayed for the food. Canard à la rouennaise is a must if you like duck - rich, dark, full of flavor. The local restaurants around Place du Vieux-Marché are proper good. Not overpriced either for a French city.
Christmas market and cobblestones - what more do you need
Visited during the Christmas market and the city looked absolutely magical. The Cathedral all lit up, mulled wine in hand, old cobbled streets everywhere - it was a really special few days. Rouen does Christmas well.
